FAQs

Are your Products Gluten Free

Our products are made without gluten - they contain just fruits, nuts and seeds (with the exception of our Breakfast Bars and Granola which contain certified organic and gluten free oats).

We are not certified 'gluten-free' because we cannot guarantee that ingredients were stored away from gluten-containing ingredients before reaching our gluten-free kitchen.

Where are green and grainy products made?

We are currently based in the market town of Poole in Dorset in South West England and we make all our products here by hand.

Is green and grainy a vegan/vegetarian brand ?

Yes! Our company is 100% plant based, we use zero animal or animal derived ingredients.

I can't find green and grainy products near me. How do I get them?

You can place an order on our website to be delivered directly to you -  we'd love it if you could recommend our products to your local coffee shop too!

Do you do Influencer Collaborations?

Yes!

We do collaborations at different times throughout the year and are always interested in discovering new people. If you'd like to work with us, please get in touch via email to hello@greenandgrainy.co.uk with details on your profile, audience and ideas!

Why are your slices so small?

They are little in size, but mighty in content!

Our cakes are dense - and we mean this in a good way! They are packed with nuts, seeds and fruits, and this means they are rich in nutrients, good fats and calories.

When you bake a cake it rises; we don't cook our bars so they stay small in size and dense.

Weigh your slice of Green + Grainy and a slice of Victoria sponge and you'll be surprised which is heavier! (A normal sized slice that is, not a dad-sized slice).

What do you use for sweetness?

Fruits - mainly dates - and in some products coconut blossom nectar.

We don't use any sweeteners such as Xylitol or stevia.

What do you mean by raw?

We mean that we don't cook the cakes.

We do lightly toast some of the seeds and nuts, and sometimes we activate (soak for up to 12 hour and then dehydrate) our ingredients. This partly is for flavour though mainly to maintain as much as the nutritional content and value of each ingredient.

How long do your cakes keep?

6 months in the freezer, 4 days in the fridge.

Or if you're my friend Ollie, indefinitely in the cupboard…(we don't recommend this option).

How should I defrost my cakes?

Our products defrost in 10 minutes at room temperature, but we recommend placing your G+G product on a little saucer over a cup while the hot tea is brewing beneath, then by the time the tea is brewed, your G+G slice will be perfectly ready to eat.

Can I freeze my cakes after they've been delivered?

Yes! Green + Grainy cakes are designed to go into either the fridge or the freezer upon delivery. We recommend storing in the fridge for up to 4 days, so if your cakes will last longer than that in your household then it's best to store them in the freezer from delivery.
